Supima and egyptian cotton are a similar! originally egyptian cotton become extinct because of a natural cotton plant virus. They imported Pima Natural cotton seeds from Arizona which is now what egyptian cotton is. Pima natural cotton is an extremely long staple cotton so that it could be spun finer. The finer the initial thread may be the finer the fabric created from it is. Supima is a brand name! The even more thread count in additional linens, the smoother the fabric! Always with respect to the weave needless to say! A 300 count will be 300 threads per inch. a 100 count will be 100 threads per inch. the 300 is a much tighter weave compared to the 100 therefore smoother.
